Janet kinldy agreed to meet for a coffee. There we shared our experiences of the health system and gave each other feedback. Her advice to encounter daily life as a continuous improv helped me overcome some of my growing anxiety I have towards an uncertain idea of future. Why move forward if moving forward has stopped making sense? It is this very act of persevering, of standing beside your work - or standing for something, even if that something may appear insignificant, that interests me. Moving towards failure is not interesting - it's the part where you get to pick up the pieces and do something with what remains, that becomes interesting.
I collaborated with Janet on this card for a project at DNA Artspace in London, Ontario, which was meant to bring together artists from different communties across Canada. I used sparkles and then mailed the card to Janet, and Janet responded with this amazing drawing.
